How To Grow Purslane (Gangavalli Kura)

Pot Size :
You Can use 18*6 or 24*6 Inch Grow bag for growing Purslane. If you want to grow in Plastic pot use minimum 6 Inch pot . The wider pots/ Grow Bags will provide more space and more nutrient to the plant .

Soil Requirements: Purslane needs moist but well-drained, nutrient-rich soil.  Use soil mix with combination of Red Soil , Vermicompost and Cocopeat at a ratio of (2:1:1) . Also add 2-5% of Neem Powder to the soil mix. Neem Powder will act as fungicide.

Sowing Purslane Seeds : Purslane is easy to grow even for beginners. Sprinkle Purslane Seeds / Gangavalli Kura Seeds onto moist soil and press them lightly. Don’t cover them, as seeds are very small in size. Purslane grows in just about any soil from a rich fertile soil to dry rocky soils. It is drought tolerant.
