How To Grow Lavender from seeds
Pot Size : Lavender can be grown in 15×15 Grow bag or container which must have 15 inch depth.
Soil Requirements:
Lavender need well-drained soil. Use soil mix with combination of Red Soil , Vermicompost and sand at a ratio of (2:1:1) . Also add 2-5% of Neem Powder to the soil mix. Neem Powder will act as fungicide. Lavender grows best in low to moderately-fertile soils
Sowing Seeds :
Sow seeds in a sterile seed starting mix. Barely cover seeds, because they need light to germinate. Seeds will germinate in about two weeks. Transplant to individual pots when the plants are large enough to handle.
Light and Water requirements:
Lavender needs full sun. Lavender loves blazing hot sun and dry soil. If your lavender doesn’t thrive, it’s due to overwatering, too much shade, and high humidity levels. Lavender is drought-tolerant which means it does not require regular watering.
Common issues:
The pests that attack lavender are four-lined plant bug, garden fleahopper, and Septoria leaf spot, spittle bug, tarnished plant bug, leafhoppers, and woolly bear caterpillars. You may want to use a pesticide like Protector-Bio Insecticide for Pest Control, Guardian-Bio Insecticide or Neem oil.
Harvesting:
Harvesting begin from the end of the spring until summer and even later. An annual pruning is an important step for long-lasting lavender plants.
