 How To Grow Baby Corn Seeds

Pot Size :
You Can use 15×15 Inch Grow bag for planting Baby Corn Seeds . If you want to grow in Plastic pot use minimum 15 Inch pot . The bigger pots/ Grow Bags will provide more space and more nutrient to the plant .

Soil Requirements:
Baby Corn Seeds need moist but well-drained, nutrient-rich soil.  Use soil mix with combination of Red Soil , Vermicompost and Cocopeat at a ratio of (2:1:1) . Also add 2-5% of Neem Powder to the soil mix. Neem Powder will act as fungicide.

Seed Placement :
Sow seeds at a depth of 1 inch in the soil. Space the seeds 8 to 12 inches apart.

Light requirements:
Baby Corn needs full sunlight. Keep the Baby Corn container under open sunlight.

Water Requirements:
Water your potted Baby Corn plant every day in summer & every alternate day in winter. Water near the soil in the form of a light shower using a watering can.

Common issues: Baby Corn is easy to grow plant . It will grow fast and give you good amount of fruits . There are four major pests of maize. These are spotted stem borer, pink stem borer, shoot fly and fall armyworm. Use our Bio Insecticide Guardian for removing leaf curling and White flies .

Harvesting:  These grow lower on the stalk, close to the base of the leaves. They are very easy to identify due to the light green ‘silk’ strands emerging from leafy husks. Keep a close eye on the female flowers: once they start popping up, it’s only a matter of days before they are ready to be harvested!
